The Barony of Bryn Madoc Presents

Dreamstone Tourney 33: Heroic Inspirations

April 19-21, 2013

Camp Daniel Morgan at Hard Labor Creek State Park,
Knox Chapel Road, Rutledge, GA 30663

The Barony of Bryn Madoc invites the Known World to join us at Dreamstone 2013. This event will be immersed in the writings of Geoffrey Chaucer, from works such as The Legend of Good Women to his masterpiece The Canterbury Tales. The schedule will be filled with wonderful activities for adults and children alike, so brush up on your middle English and take a ride into Canterbury!

ACTIVITIES

There will be multiple lists on Saturday, including the Dreamstone Tournament, the Baron's Prize List, battle scenarios, and more. There will be A&S activities on the field during the day (including an ongoing fiber arts solar and a scriptorium), a mead competition, and a sumptuous feast, followed by a revel, in the evening.

Classes
Lady Signy Finnvarrdóttir will be teaching an astrolabe class on Friday night. Saturday classes include blackwork taught by THLady Katerina Filia Jehan, a European dance class taught by Baroness Mariona Delores Ruíz de la Costa, and “Women in Chaucerean Literature” taught by Lady Mara Palmer. Sir Geoffrey will be offering his period chair-making class.

Children's Activities
Thalia de Morales has offered to put on a puppet show version of some of the Canterbury Tales for the children (family-friendly versions, of course) during the day! She is also offering up a puppet show later in the day for the adult crowd.

Competitions
bullet blank space An A&S competition will be held throughout the day in the main hall. There will be two categories: populace choice and scholar's choice for best Chaucer-influenced entry.

SITE

The site for Dreamstone is Hard Labor Creek State Park* in Rutledge, Georgia. Please note: We are using the small group camp, Daniel Morgan, instead of the large group camp. Camp Daniel Morgan has 76 beds in cabins; tent camping is not available on site (but is available elsewhere in the park). A few cottages are also available for rent through the park. For more information on tenting and cottages, call 1-800-864-7275 or go to the Georgia State Parks system's website.*

The event site opens at 5 p.m. Eastern time on Friday and closes at 11 a.m. on Sunday. No pets allowed in the group camp area. All service animals should wear a visible service animal vest. Georgia State Parks' policy states that “consumption or use of alcoholic beverages or intoxicants is unlawful in any public-use area.”

Directions: From I-20, take the Newborn Rd. exit (exit no. 105) into Rutledge and take Fairplay Road to the park. The entrance to Camp Daniel Morgan is on the right at the intersection with Knox Chapel Rd., before you get to the stone bridge.
