The Barony of Bryn Madoc Presents

April 20-22, 2012
Camp Daniel Morgan at Hard Labor Creek State Park,
Knox Chapel Road, Rutledge, GA 30663
ACTIVITIES
Please join us on April 20-22, 2012 for Dreamstone 33, to celebrate the battle of Agincourt and our Heroic Inspirations in a day of tournaments and fun. There will be multiple lists on Saturday, including the Dreamstone Tournament, the Baron's Prize List, battle scenarios, and more. There will be A&S activities on the field during the day, a sweet mead competition, and a sumptuous feast, followed by a revel, in the evening.
Family activities will be held in the main hall from 12-1 p.m. There will be arts and crafts, such as shield decorating. (Shields will be hung around the hall for feast and available for pick-up during the revel). Family activities will continue from 2-4 p.m. on the field with a continuation of arts and crafts as well as hobby horse jousting, which the children will be able to "score." At revel the children will have a chance to “slay” a dragon piñata. Children must be accompanied by a guardian for all activities.
The A&S competitions will be open to completed and incompleted projects associated with heroic literature and/or the Battle of Agincourt, with a separate category for Epic Poetry. Minimal documentation will be required, and multiple entries will be allowed. Winners will be awarded by Populace Vote and by Scholar's Choice (judged by a selected individual who will chose a favorite based on historical and literary accuracy and presentation). Anyone entering in the Epic Poetry Competition will have a chance to read their works aloud after the Dreamstone Tourney next to the fundraiser lunch site (or wherever the biggest audience may be). Please feel free to read your entry multiple times (such as to Their Excellencies and to lunch-goers both).
Historical Background: In the year of 1415, Henry V is King of England and has demanded return of continental lands that once belonged to the Plantagenets. The seige to claim Harfleur takes much longer than we expected, draining our English forces of both time and supplies. We mount a raiding expedition to reach English-controlled holdings in Calais, and eventually spot the French army camped near Agincourt. As St. Crispin's Day dawns, we find ourselves low on supplies, outnumbered, outmaneuvered, but we must endure, looking to our ancestors — the heroes of old — to face this new obstacle... and triumph over it!

SITE
The site for Dreamstone is Hard Labor Creek State Park* in Rutledge, Georgia. Please note: We are using the small group camp, Daniel Morgan, instead of the large group camp. Camp Daniel Morgan has 76 beds in cabins; tent camping is not available on site (but is available elsewhere in the park). A few cottages are also available for rent through the park. For more information on tenting and cottages, call 1-800-864-7275 or go to the Georgia State Parks system's website.*
The event site opens at 5 p.m. Eastern time on Friday and closes at 11 a.m. on Sunday. No pets allowed in the group camp area. Georgia State Parks' policy states that consumption or use of alcoholic beverages or intoxicants is unlawful in any public-use area.
Directions: From I-20, take the Newborn Rd. exit (exit no. 105) into Rutledge and take Fairplay Road to the park. The entrance to Camp Daniel Morgan is on the right at the intersection with Knox Chapel Rd., before you get to the stone bridge.
